General description

The course about Agile Leadership presents how an agile leader can act in an environment that is constantly changing. This course describes how the competence elements from IPMA ICB version 4.0 can be interpreted in an agile environment.

There are three areas of competence: perspective, people and practice. Each area has a number of competence elements, in total there are 29. Each competence element (CE) contains lists of knowledge and skills/abilities required to master the CE, plus Key Competence Indicators (KCI) including measures.

These CEs will be described using some practical examples.

Learning Objectives

After this course, participants will understand how a true agile leader can not only behave in an agile way but also inspire others to adopt an agile mindset, in the three areas of competence. Participants will understand how an agile leader must consider factors such as the stakeholders’ participation, financial aspects, and resolving impediments with other agile leaders.

After this course, participants will also be prepared to take the IPMA Agile Leadership exam for Level D certification.

The videos present the main concepts and practical examples regarding each CE. In the forums, participants can ask questions, present more examples, or comment on the course. The course also includes some videos to support additional themes, which are publicly available on the Internet.

Evaluation and Certification

The evaluation is based on the answers to the 12 exercises proposed, which will be peer-reviewed by participants, and then revised and confirmed by the tutors.
